The Meaning Behind Our Name
இரட்டை பனை நிழல் — இரண்டு பனை மரங்களின் நிழல்"Irattai Panai Nizhal" (இரட்டை பனை நிழல்) translates beautifully from Tamil as "The Shade of Twin Palm Trees."
In Nagercoil, twin palms (Panai trees) are a sacred symbol — they represent the dual nature of the palm: as a tree that provides shade, sustenance, and sweet karupatti to generations of Tamil families. Our name is a tribute to this heritage.
Every beverage we make honours the palm tree — the karupatti (palm jaggery) in our coffee, the panai-root cooling drinks, and the traditional recipes that have grown under the shade of these twin trees for generations.
